The bar

Located in the centre of Debden village, the Plough is the heart of village life and has been since 1850. As an integral part of village life, we also hold the annual village potato growing competition.

We serve a hand-picked selection of Camra LocAle's you can find more details on our beers page. In the chillier months you'll find an open fire to sooth away those winter blues.

We are dog friendly in the bar area so feel free to drop in for a drink and a bite to eat (limited tables in bar) after your walk, which the village has access to many of.

We have a separate restaurant where you can enjoy a quite meal with friends and family. We don't have a huge number of tables so we recommend you call and book in advance to save any disappointment. An example of our menu can be found on our menu page.

The pub benefits from a large beer garden laid to lawn to help pass those glorious summer afternoons. During the summer months we have a table tennis table in the garden and hold BBQ's and live music events in the garden. Every year we hold the Debden Beer Festival in our beet garden. There will always be music, food and of course great beer.

We have a dedicated car park with a reasonable number of spaces available for patrons of the pub.
